SPAR Mozambique invest in modern supermarkets

February 17, 2021 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR Mozambique in 2020 opened a new supermarket in Matola, one of the largest suburbs of the capital city, Maputo. Energy-efficient systems have been integrated throughout the store, including modern refrigeration technology and LED lighting, emphasising the pleasant shopping experience for their valued customers.

The 1,384m2 SPAR Supermarket is in a densely populated area with a great demand for a store offering a wide range of products. The extensive dry groceries complement the instore butchery, ready-made meal selection, bakery, and fresh produce offering.

High-quality back of house equipment has been installed to boost operational profitability. This is the ninth SPAR Supermarket operated under the VIP group, owned by Hussein Chalha, in Mozambique.

Investment in modernisation

In the northern port in the province of Nacala, SPAR Mozambique invested in the expansion of another SPAR Supermarket from 306m2 to 709m2. Situated on one of the main feeder roads towards the port, the SPAR Supermarket offers convenience to residents and visitors alike.

Upon entering through the extensive glass frontage, shoppers are welcomed by the broad fresh produce department. All departments offer great customer service and a broad assortment, with the instore butchery also offering Halaal products.
