One of the four new openings is the EUROSPAR store in the town of Erice. This store has symbolic value for the local community as it enabled the revival of a neighbourhood supermarket which had been closed. The staff of the former supermarket were able to make a new start, choosing to work with DESPAR Ergon.
At its annual convention, held recently in Catania, the team at Ergon reviewed the strong business performance, announced a series of new store openings, and presented the activities for 2018, including a new promotional video using a compelling story-telling around the SPAR brand and some exciting competitions.
“DESPAR is a large family that continues to grow in Sicily,” said Concetta Lo Magno, Head of Marketing at Ergon. Opening the annual convention, she highlighted the important sales results that the DESPAR stores are enjoying in the region, having achieved considerable market share.
The DESPAR Brand’s success is due to its consistently high standards and the focus it places on introducing new technologies. The new DESPAR Sicilia app for example has taken on an important role in promoting customer loyalty, offering attractive rewards to regular shoppers.
