SPAR Hungary continues investment in its retail network

July 27, 2023 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR Hungary recently reopened the SPAR Supermarket in Körmend, Western Hungary, following the investment of over €2.6 million in this project, focusing on enhancing the shopping experience for its customers. The upgraded store now features modernised interiors, a more spacious car park, and the latest eco-friendly cooling technology. Additionally, customers can enjoy freshly-baked products from the new 'bake-off' bakery.

When making decisions during store renovations, SPAR Hungary focuses on customer convenience as well as the supply of quality products. The company also prioritises energy efficiency with the goal of ensuring that cooling, lighting, and heating systems use as little energy as possible. The shop floor now features LED lighting which whilst being energy efficient contributes to the more inviting shopping atmosphere.  Furthermore, SPAR Hungary has invested in new CO2 refrigerators equipped with doors for greater efficiency.

Enhanced shopping experience

The renovated SPAR Supermarket covers over 1,200m2, with 821m2 dedicated to retail sales. The revamp included making products more easily accessible to customers and creating a modern working environment, with shoppers supported by the 22-strong team running the store. Customers are greeted with fresh produce counters at the entrance of the store. The shopper journey continues into the dairy, delicatessen, bakery, and wine and spirits section. The checkout area is located near the frozen goods section, with six self-checkouts available for a faster and more convenient payment experience.

The store’s car park has been improved to offer wider and more convenient parking spots, which makes it easier for customers to find a space. Pedestrians benefit from visible crossings and walkways, ensuring their safety and ease of access to the store.
