SPAR Gran Canaria has opened another two new stores and invested in the modernisation of two existing supermarkets. The investment has further strengthened the SPAR Partner’s offering, broadening its retail network and bringing an improved shopping experience to customers.

A new 120m2 SPAR store was opened in the residential area Sansofé at the end of October, utilising a modern and innovative store design. In addition to a wide range of dry groceries , it also has a great fresh produce section with an extensive offer of locally sourced products. Innovative technologies, like vertical refrigeration chambers and LED lighting, have been implemented, significantly cutting down energy consumption.

In the same month, SPAR Botánico, located in the tourist area of Maspalomas, was reopened, now enjoying a bright modern store design with a clearer layout and offering innovative services. The 450m2 store has improved its accessibility and makes use of energy efficient technologies. A highlight is the extensive fruit and vegetable section, as well as the deli and meat department with a larger variety of local products. The bakery section has also been modernised and extended, offering fresh bread and pastries baked in the latest generation ovens.

SPAR Gran Canaria celebrated the opening of a new SPAR on the island: SPAR Polígono Residencial de Arinaga at the end of November. The new store, with a sales area of over 100m2 has an innovative design and is a modern, energy efficient store. The fresh fruit and vegetables, with a focus on local products, a deli department and instore bakery offering freshly baked bread has been enthusiastically welcomed by local shoppers. The wide aisles as well as the food areas offer customers more convenience and an enjoyable shopping experience. Energy efficient refrigeration and lighting systems are in line with the new SPAR store concept implemented on the entire island, focusing on sustainability and environmental impact.

SPAR Balos, located in Vecindario in the Southeast of the island, was reopened, featuring more convenience and an improved shopping experience through a more spacious store layout and brighter interior. The SPAR store is well-known in the area having been open for almost 15 years and is popular for both its local fresh fruit and vegetables offer and an excellent bakery department.
