With the opening of new EUROSPAR supermarkets in Lehtikangas in Kajaani and in Vanhakylä in Loviisa, SPAR Finland now operates eight stores nationwide.

Growing the SPAR brand in Finland

The two new openings support the continued growth of the SPAR brand in Finland, which returned in 2025 when SPAR International granted Tokmanni the license to operate the brand in Finland. Each EUROSPAR supermarket is designed according to international best practice from the global SPAR retail network. The EUROSPAR supermarket concept is designed to offer thousands of grocery products, ranging from locally sourced Finnish products to internationally renowned brands, with a competitive price-quality ratio that meets customers’ weekly shopping needs in a single trip.

Expanding the offer

The EUROSPAR supermarket in Kajaani offers an expanded range of foodservice solutions. Customers can purchase a variety of hot meals, including grilled chicken, SPAR pinsas, which combine elements of pizzas and focaccias, as well as SPAR pizzas and SPAR burgers. The Picadeli salad bar is also available.

Both supermarkets include nearly 200 SPAR Own Brand products across food and non-food items. The assortment across both newly opened EUROSPAR supermarkets reflects the importance customers place on local produce. A significant number of products come from Finnish brands, and the SPAR Bakery includes a majority of Finnish food products.

Tiina Mustonen, Store Manager at the Tokmanni-EUROSPAR supermarket in Vanhakylä, welcomed the new opening, saying: “Our customers have shown great interest in the improvements we have made. In particular, our new SPAR Bakery station has attracted a lot of attention and has been a very welcome addition to our offering. We have also welcomed a few new colleagues, and we now have a team of around 25 store employees serving our customers here in Vanhakylä.”
