A SPAR Supermarket in Ressaix, Belgium, has recently reopened its doors after a complete upgrade. After a six-month renovation, this 750m2 SPAR Supermarket now features a modern, attractive store design with a clear layout, designed to provide local customers with the best shopping experience.

Located on a busy road, the SPAR store enjoys an ideal location among several businesses, schools, and sports clubs. A 60-space car park behind the store is also available to customers.

Additional services

Independent SPAR retailer Alexandre Cerone attaches great importance to customer service, and his team of 15 enthusiastic co-workers are always ready to assist shoppers.

A real highlight at SPAR Ressaix is the bakery section, which keeps the shelves stocked with a wide assortment of fresh bread throughout the day. This state-of-the-art station includes a proofing cabinet to offer fresh daily bread prepared and baked onsite. When customers enter the shop, they are welcomed by the delicious smell of bread and pastries.

Alexandre adds: “We have also expanded the assortment of ready-made dishes. In our delicatessen and wine section, we have installed a tablet that offers customers advice on wine-food pairing as well as personalised suggestions.”

“Organic and local products also take up a very important place instore, as I prefer to source from regional producers so that our customers can discover these products”, Alexandre added.

Focus on sustainability

SPAR Ressaix now includes environmentally friendly technologies that reduce its environmental footprint and energy consumption, including a full LED lighting system and CO2 refrigeration units.

In chilling systems, CO2 is a more expensive gas than the traditional Freon gas, but it is more efficient in the long term. This choice for modernity improves the store’s environmental footprint and overall comfort as well as being in line with SPAR’s goal of offering freshness combined with an excellent shopping experience and friendly customer service.
