Following a short but intense renovation process, SPAR Athienitis has re-opened its doors. The store has undergone a complete transformation, resulting in a clean and streamlined look and feel, a new layout and greater emphasis on fresh produce.

The renewed SPAR store stocks a wide range of products, from the usual grocery items to exciting new own brand lines, available only at SPAR. “Wherever possible, we work with Zimbabwean farmers, producers and manufacturers, thereby supporting the local economy, said Moses Chihuri of SPAR Zimbabwe.

“We are very proud to be 100% Zimbabwean-owned and we are fully committed to adding value to the local community through our improved store.”

SPAR Athienitis will focus on the SPAR ‘Fresh is Best’ policy, with highest quality specifications for all fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy and baked goods. “Our Butchery and Bakery colleagues have been trained to the highest standards by SPAR South Africa, and we are excited to unveil their handiwork,” Mr Chihuri said.

Customer Service is another key area of focus for the SPAR store and the staff have been selected for their experience, enthusiasm and energy. Overall, 87 new jobs have been created.

“SPAR’s ethos worldwide is about working together,” Mr Chihuri said.  “We are proud to be celebrating 50 years of being part of the international SPAR family, which is larger and stronger than ever before. We are delighted to be growing with SPAR worldwide, and we intend to keep on growing well into the future in Zimbabwe.”
