The American based Food Marketing Institute FMI is the trade association that serves as the voice of food retail. For retailers, wholesalers and suppliers of all types and sizes, FMI leads the way in providing comprehensive programs, resources, advocacy and services for the grocery retail industry.

As a member of FMI, SPAR International has been asked to join the 2019 International Store Manager Awards. This is a wonderful opportunity for our retailer stars to shine on an international stage.

Awards are given to outstanding store managers who creatively generate sales growth, effectively communicate objectives, demonstrate team leadership and provide exceptional service to the community. Competition is fierce and only the best are selected.

In 2018, Joanne Walker from SPAR Northern Ireland won the Internal Store Manager Award. In 2017, Clive Gould from SPAR SA won this prestigious prize. We like to go for a hat-trick in 2019!

FMI has set a tight deadline, being 11 February 2019. You might already have store managers in mind who stood out and/or might have been awarded on national level. To attend the event on-site, a good knowledge of English is required.

All finalists will receive two complementary registrations to the FMI Future Leaders Experience in St. Louis/MO, May 14-16 2019, including three nights of accommodation. The category winners will also receive $1,000 each. See more details in the attached PDF.
