In the town of Hokksund, Norway, about an hour from the capital Oslo, local residents celebrated the opening of a EUROSPAR Supermarket, located at the Eiker Senter shopping complex.

The 1,800m² EUROSPAR Supermarket in Hokksund offers a pleasant shopping experience for customers with a design catered to provide space to move around freely. Additionally, an enhanced assortment instore brings customers’ various grocery needs under one roof. This assortment includes a range of fresh produce, including fruit and vegetables, butchery, ready meals to-go, frozen produce and ambient products.

Digital solutions, including self-checkouts, have also been included instore to further enhance the overall shopping experience. A total of 28 staff, including store manager Kristine Thorsby, will be on hand for customers. Customers present on the opening day could enjoy coffee and cake as well as instore promotions.

Benefitting the region

The opening brought a large crowd to the Eiker Senter shopping complex to enjoy the celebrations, with local mayor Adrian Tollefsen cutting the ribbon. The EUROSPAR Supermarket is part of a wider renovation of the Eiker Senter shopping complex, which will see other shops and outlets added to the modernised and rebuilt space. With the new EUROSPAR Supermarket and the revamped Eiker Senter shopping complex, the local region will benefit greatly.
