Over the course of 23 days in the lead up to Christmas, customers at 24 SPAR stores in India donated 40,000 gifts, which were distributed to the 7,200 children of SOS Children’s Villages.
To the delight of the children, SPAR India also set up a festive area with a Christmas tree, gifts, Father Christmas, an inflatable castle, food and many fun activities.
The campaign was run for the first time in 2017, when SPAR called upon its customers to donate items with the aim of providing a gift for each child of SOS Villages. During the first campaign, 20,000 gifts were collected, gift wrapped and distributed before Christmas. SPAR India is proud to have doubled this number this past Christmas – going a step further by aiming to fulfil the needs of every household at SOS Children’s Villages in the country.
The campaign was spread across digital, print and social media channels and promotional videos were shared, resulting in 5 million views.
