SPAR Russia was awarded a Private Label prize at the 2016 International Private Label Show in Moscow in March. The SPAR Partner received the award for its Private Label brands, SPAR and S-mart.

The aim of the award is to provide the most objective assessment of Private Label products based on expert ratings and consumer voting. A total of 34 retail chains and four Private Label producers were awarded in 20 different categories. The award is supported by various government bodies and associations, including The Ministry of Industry and Trade, The Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation and The Association of National Retailers.

The criteria for this award include product quality, packaging design and brand promotion. The expert jury consisted of representatives from research and consulting companies, state authorities of the Russian Federation, industrial associations and leading branding and design agencies.

SPAR Russia’s Instant Coffee Private Label supplier, Instanta Rus, received an award in the category, Breakthrough of the Year. It also received the special jury prize for Best Producer of Private Label goods.

The International Private Label Show is an annual event. It is the only specialised awards ceremony for retail chains and Private Label producers in Russia. There were 160 participants at this year’s event, from both food and non-food companies. The Show was organised by Reed Exhibitions Russia.

The event also featured a Gallery of Private Label products – stands showcasing the Private Label goods of leading Russian retail chains. SPAR Russia presented its Own Brands, SPAR and S-mart.
