SPAR Supermarket on Gran Canaria celebrates 30th anniversary with grand re-opening

Cencosu, the SPAR Partner on the island of Gran Canaria, has re-opened its oldest SPAR store, SPAR La Barranquera, after a full revamp. Located in the municipality of Telde and first opened 30 years ago, the SPAR Supermarket has been renovated to offer an improved shopping experience for its regular customers with new departments, more instore services, and product ranges.

The supermarket is staffed by a team of 24 dedicated employees who do their utmost to provide excellent customer service. Open Monday to Saturday from 8:00-21:30, the Food-to-Go section is also open on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00-15:00.

Thanks to the renovations, SPAR La Barranquera now has spacious aisles and more natural light. Energy saving measures have also been incorporated instore.

The charcuterie section has a new Iberian ham corner and in the fruit and veg department, customers can choose from a selection of freshly squeezed juices. The store also includes an extensive wine department with the most select wines from the island on offer, as well as top quality national and international brands. Tapping into the healthy eating trend, there is also a large assortment of organic products.

Coinciding with the annual Fiestas del Día de Canarias – an official holiday for the Canary Islands – SPAR La Barranquera celebrated its re-opening and 30th Anniversary with traditional folk music instore and local product tastings.
