April 26, 2018 IN THE CATEGORY: Sourcing

SPAR China recently held a meeting to redefine its sourcing strategy. Held in Weihai, Shandong, the heads of seven SPAR China commercial teams came together to discuss their future Buying and Sourcing activities.

The ongoing aim is to facilitate greater joint buying by SPAR China Partners. By buying and sourcing together, the partners benefit from competitive product prices and increased profitability.

Wang Peihuan, Chairman of SPAR China´s Board said: “SPAR needs to truly become one, using one voice to buy together to meet the increasing demand.”

During the meeting, all of the SPAR China Partners analysed the current opportunities for SPAR China and discussed further growing their cooperation with  suppliers. They also addressed the development of more SPAR Own Brand products, as well as the possibility of a national sourcing programme. The ultimate goal for SPAR China is to provide their customers with better value for money through improved pricing.

This revitalised sourcing strategy will see the SPAR Brand in China going from strength to strength.

About SPAR China:

SPAR was introduced to China with the signing of the licence agreement for Shandong Province in 2004. This was followed by the addition of more partners, and now SPAR is operational in nine provinces: Shandong, Guangdong, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Sichuan, Henan, Hubei and Hebei.

The privately owned retail chains licensed to operate SPAR have a cooperative relationship in line with the original SPAR mission of working together to reduce costs, maximise sales and increase profits. The SPAR China Partners, whilst part of a leading international group, maintain 100% local ownership.
