SPAR Austria supports young entrepreneurs

SPAR Austria has announced a new start-up programme, ‘Young & Urban by SPAR’, aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs with the development of their products.

After the success of well-known food start-ups like Fritz Kola, Club Mate, Veganz, Neni and Nussy, the new initiative will expand SPAR Austria’s existing range of trendy food and nonfood products.

One of the new product lines is Inspiriti, a low-sugar ‘lifestyle’ drink, which comes in different flavours such as elderberry, pomegranate, and green tea. Another is the revolutionary NEOH Crossbar, a nutritional protein bar with only one gram of sugar. A third new product is Frozen Power – an Austrian protein ice cream made from natural ingredients, with no artificial flavouring, coloring or added sugar. Other new food, household and leisure ranges will follow in due course.

Entrepreneurs can submit a description of their products on the Young & Urban by SPAR website and company experts will review them and make contact with those they wish to interview. “When we find that a product will be of value to our customers, SPAR Austria, together with the inventors, further develops the product so that it can eventually enter the market,” said SPAR Austria CEO, Gerhard Drexel.

Selected start-ups will then have the opportunity to stock their products in 1,500 SPAR, INTERSPAR, and EUROSPAR stores across the country, as well as in all online SPAR stores.

As the largest Austrian food retailer, SPAR is not only a reliable partner for regional suppliers, but also supports start-ups in bringing their innovative ideas around food, household and leisure to Austrian supermarket shelves. “We are proud to present our customers with the latest food trends and lifestyle products in a brand-new way, whilst at the same time promoting Austrian inventiveness and offering young entrepreneurs a successful start,” said Gerhard Drexel at the launch of the ‘Young & Urban by SPAR’ initiative.
