Building on the interest generated by the successful opening of the first SPAR Supermarket in Minsk in August 2017, SPAR Belarus has expanded its operations by opening a new hypermarket in Brest, in the southwest of the country.

The INTERSPAR Hypermarket, which opened on 7 December, provides quality, convenience and competitive pricing, catering to the needs of the local students, families and government workers in the town of Brest, which has a population of 330,000 people.

With 3,500m2 of retail sales area and over 25,000 products available, the hypermarket offers both residents and tourists an extensive selection of fresh food in top-quality service departments. The instore offer includes an exciting selection of SPAR Own Brand products sourced regionally and internationally as well as excellent customer service. Customers can look forward to flavours from around the globe thanks to the SPAR Taste the World counter, which showcases cuisines from Latin America, Europe and Asia. Instore water saving and other environmentally friendly practices demonstrate the commitment  of SPAR Belarus to sustainability.

Preparation for the store’s opening included a large-scale, thorough training programme for all levels of the team of 220, with particular emphasis on sales, SPAR branding and ambassadorship, as well as the maintenance of high corporate standards.

At the opening of the INTERSPAR Hypermarket, the Store Manager said: “We have invested heavily in a wide range of modern equipment, cutting-edge technologies such as self-scanning and the highest standards of customer service. We are very excited to be offering a new retail experience to our customers in Brest.”

With two Food-to-Go counters, an open-fire grill and a café with free Wi-Fi, the new INTERSPAR Hypermarket is sure to become a Brest community favourite.

SPAR Belarus intends to build on the learnings from the first SPAR Supermarket and INTERSPAR Hypermarket to further develop the brand in 2018, opening several stores in key cities across the country.
