DESPAR Northeast recognised as Best Talent Hunter of 2017

SPAR Italy Partner, DESPAR Northeast, was awarded with three different titles at the Best Talent Hunter event for the second year in a row. This strong performance was based on the assessments of students who had completed internships with the company.

The event, hosted by the University of Padua, is designed to reward companies that have been particularly active in promoting a transition to work for the University’s students and graduates.

The assessments were based on the outcomes of surveys that students are asked to complete at the end of any internship, and on a company’s level of participation in the recruitment and employer branding activities that were promoted in the academic year 2016-2017.

DESPAR Northeast was awarded the following titles: Best Company for number of internships, Best Tutoring activities and Best Employer Branding activities. It was the only retail brand to be recognised with three different titles.

“These awards make us doubly proud as they come from a very prestigious institute, the University of Padua, and because they are based on the assessment of the young interns who have worked in our company,” said DESPAR Northeast Human Resources Director, Angelo Pigatto.

“We are committed to providing our interns with work experience that genuinely adds to their skills and that is relevant for their future careers by offering them resources, expertise and professionalism,” explained Sabrina Stievano, Recruiting Manager at DESPAR Northeast. “The outcome is a positive one for all involved since students coming straight from university, who have an unbiased opinion of our business, are often an unexpected source of content and knowledge.”

Each year DESPAR Northeast offers about 40 internships, helping to introduce students and new graduates from the main Italian universities to the business. “For many, the internship is followed by an employment contract. This has been the case for the past three years for at least 35 interns who have become colleagues,” explained Angela Tognon, a former intern herself who now works in the Human Resources department at DESPAR Northeast. “This shows our company’s clear intention to build on the training and relationships that were developed during internships.”

The University of Padua is one of the five oldest universities in the world. In 2016, it was ranked the best university in Italy.
